HPS is updating the way that we celebrate our monthly character pillars. Staff will be awarding Patriot Prize tickets to students who stand out by demonstrating the characteristics for the pillar of the month. Tickets can be earned by students Monday through Thursday of each week. On Friday, teachers will be notified which students in their classrooms were awarded a Patriot Prize. This entitles them to dress in casual clothes on the first day of the next week. Stickers will be placed in your child's planner or on their shirt to notify you of their reward. Stickers will have the date written on them as a reminder of which day your child may dress in casual clothes. Only children that have a sticker may dress in casual clothes on these special days. In addition to earning a casual day we will also be placing a certificate with your child's name in the lobby, by the pillar in which they are recognized. Each of those students will be entered into a prize drawing. At the end of each month there will be two student names pulled; one from K-3 and the other from 4-8. These two students will receive a special prize from the staff here at HPS for being a role model of the school. If you have any questions about our new way to celebrate the pillars of the month please contact your child's teacher.

Hello parents! We have tabulated the results from the Penny Wars. Your kids did an amazing job and raised over a shocking $350! In 1st place, was Mrs. Medrano’s class with a total of -$7.41 in pennies followed very closely behind by Mrs. Dickinson's class who had -$7.81. The class with the most money, (Including all coins and dollars) was Mrs. Kuenzers class with a total of $106.64 raised, followed by Mr. Fowler’s class with $66.14 raised. Mrs. Medrano’s class will be receiving an ice cream party on the 6th. We appreciate all the help from parents, siblings, and students, and we’re happy to say that with your help we’re going to send $351.34 to The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.
